Jose Luis de Rojas – CEO

After a short spell in investment banking, Jose Luis undertook a career in management consulting as Associate Partner at the business strategy division of Andersen (today´s Accenture). He managed M&A, corporate development and strategic marketing projects in Europe and the Americas.

He later joined Abbey National Bank as General Manager and Board Member, promoting the development of a retail bank which was at the time highly innovative in delivery channels and other elements of the marketing mix. He successfully led the sale of the Spanish operations of Abbey National.

In 2000 Jose Luis changes his career path in moving to the communication industry. He joins Aegis (today DentsuAgeis), the owner of leading media agencies such as Carat and digital agencies (Isobar). At Aegis he became CEO of Iberia and Latin America and was promoted to the Global Executive Board in 2006.

Starting from the legacy media services of Aegis he established a portfolio of diversified brands and services in the main markets under his management. He also developed the Latin American network of 15 countries through acquisitions, organic development and local partnerships. While a member of Aegis executive team, Jose Luis managed development projects and acquisitions. He also doubled the size of the markets under his management in 6 years.

After recently acquiring a stake in Zertem, Jose Luis became its CEO. Zertem is the leading independent media communication agency Group in Spain.

He obtained an MBA in 1988 at IESE and followed several postgraduate programs in a number of global business schools, including Rotterdam School of Management, LBS, Insead, Wharton, Columbia and IESE.

Juan Antonio Rodríguez – Director

Licentiate Degree in Economics & Business, Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. Began his career in 1981 with the Arthur Andersen consultancy, where he attained the level of Consulting and Auditing Manager. He is a Chartered Accounts Auditor and is a member of the Registry of Economist Auditors.

Associate Professor for the Master’s Degree in Auditing of ICADE.

In 1989 he joined the EQUMEDIA project, the Purchasing Agency founded by LEO BURNETT GROUP, DMBB, YOUNG RUBICAM and GREY GROUP, taking part in creating the project and carrying out various responsibilities as CFO, Deputy General Manager, General Manager and CEO.

During this period he worked for Procter & Gamble, Pirelli, McDonalds, Colgate, Kraft General Foods, Fiat Group, Diageo, Arbora & Ausonia, Ericsson, United International Pictures, Honda, Nokia, Burger King, Glaxo Smithkline Beecham, etc.

In 2006, he led an operation through which the company executives took control over it in a management buyout.

In 2007, EQUMEDIA signed a collaboration agreement with CENCOMED, culminating in 2008 with their merger, and he currently serves as CEO of the new company.

Since 2009 he has been the owner and President of ESTAMPA, International Multiple Art Fair.

Albert Gost – Director

Graduate in Advertising and Public Relations, University of Barcelona, MBA from La Salle Engineering School of Ramon Llull University and PDG from IESE University of Navarra. Also studied Project Management at La Salle University in Philadelphia, the Leadership Program at London Business School and Corporate Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Has been Associate Professor of Media and Research Techniques at INSA Business, Marketing & Communication School and Associate Professor for the Information Sciences degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the International University of Catalonia (UIC)

Alberto started his career as a planner in 1986, at the McCann Erickson Barcelona advertising agency, working for Unilever, Bacardi Martini, Nabisco and General Motors, later moving to TBWA New York where he worked for brands such as Absolut Vodka, Goldstar and Evian.

In 1990, he joined Carat Spain, a company in which he held several positions for a decade, serving as Director of Customer Service for accounts such as Henkel, Bayer, Volkswagen Group (Audi, Skoda, Seat, Volkswagen), Adidas, Danone Group, Sara Lee, Puig Group, Codorniu, etc.

In 2000 he joined Hi-Media, the French on-line advertising and marketing multinational, as CEO-Managing Director for Spain, and led the launch of the company thereupon returning to Aegis Group as Chief Executive for Corporate Development responsible for the launch, among others, of Vizeum and Posterscope.

In 2003 he took up the position of CEO of Starcom MediaVest Group and from 2005 was a member of its Management Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (member of EMEA SMG Board of Directors).

In October 2008, together with other partners, he founded Infinity Media Communications.

Manuel de la Rica – Director

Businessman and publicist, Manuel began his career in 1976 at the PRISA group, where he was Director of Publicity of El País until 1987. In this period he received 7 Control Awards and a LIDERMAN in 1984.

In 1988 he assumed the role of CEO of PUBLINTEGRAL, the PRISA media agency, and shortly after that of Director of GDM, sales agency in the same group.

Two years later he guided the merger of PUBLINTEGRAL with CARAT, and was the CEO of the company resulting from this merger.

In 1993 he founded the MEDIA ESTRATEGIA Media Agency, where he acts as major shareholder and director. Parallel to this, he became a shareholder and Director of the MULTITEL Group (CADENA COPE, CADENA CIEN, GEPSA, CABLEUROPA, MULTITEL CABLE, RFM, MEDIA PORTFOLIO).

In 2000 he negotiated the sale of MEDIA ESTRATEGIA to the Leo Burnett Group, this company becoming STARCOM MEDIA ESTRATEGIA and later STARCOM MEDIAVEST GROUP. He stayed on in the new company as a director until July 2007 when his earnout finished.

At the same time he was a member, until 2006, of the Board of Directors of EQUMEDIA representing the Leo Burnett Group.

In 2010, he joined the new EQUMEDIA media agency, where he began work on setting up a new Communication Group.

Manuel de la Rica has been a member of the Marketing Committee of the FIEJ, President of the Association for Research in Media and Patron of the Euroamerica Foundation.
